Reasons not to celebrate March 31, 1964! In March 2019, the then president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, suggests that the barracks celebrate March 31, the date that marks the military coup of 1964. The Brazilian dictatorship tortured and killed hundreds of people. Shortly before Bolsonaro publicly declared, Carlos Alberto Brilhante Ustra, as his idol, officially Ustra is the only torturer of the dictatorship recognized by the Brazilian State.
